It’s time to see where we Slay! Meet Clique Studios! Located in Carrollton, Texas, this beautiful dance space specializing in dance classes and Adult Dance Teams is home to Slay the Stage. Clique is owned by Tagg, a multi-faceted dancer specializing in partner dancing. Her full knowledge and experience in various dance styles give her a leadership advantage to encourage her students to realize their potential and become the best athletic, creative artists they can be.
Tagg is a Dancer, Choreographer, and Entertainer who has been in the performing arts industry for over 20 years. She opened her studio in 2012 in Dallas, TX, to support dancers seeking a creative space in the Performance Industry. Tagg strongly endorses the importance of having a creative space to create. She says, “Entertainers need to be able to shut off the world, work, and create opportunities to sustain their livelihood they love just like any other career professional.”
Tagg’s love and passion for dance inspire her community to explore and indulge in the arts locally. Her brand, Clique Studios, has gained recognition throughout DFW and is expanding in notoriety outside the surrounding area. When Tagg is not busy encouraging, mentoring, and training other artists, she volunteers her spare time to work with others with limited access to the Art of Team Dancing.
Moving forward, like many other nonessential businesses during the 2020 COVID world crisis, Tagg faced the issue of closing Clique Studios after a 10-year run. Although she had great success by using her platform to assist and support other entrepreneurs in the industry to achieve financial success and recognition, the thought of closing was devastating.
During the 2020 crisis, Tagg teamed up with a few of her peers and developed a Nonprofit ‘Clique-ish’ Commit to Growth Organization (C2G) focusing on personal growth, wellness, and financial balance. She said, “If not for my client’s coming together and unselfishly giving through financial contributions and their moral support, I wouldn’t be here today.” Dancing will always be my first love, followed by coaching startups and entrepreneurs; however, witnessing the magic that happens through dance and receiving generous financial contributions during a world crisis has shown me that we are all in it together. I am so grateful to be able to continue doing what I love and have another chance to make a more significant impact in life in my community and the environment that surrounds us all”.
All of the group classes I teach will be under the Nonprofit C2G. The money raised will go toward our local farmers and the people buying back 30 days of peace of mind. For more information, go to www.CliqueStudiosDallas.com.
Slay Day is just a week away and last night our cast came together for rehearsal and it was magical. So we figured we’d give you a little sneak peek at the awesomeness that’s in store. We are just in awe of the talent and willingness of each performer to put themselves out there. It was great to see them supporting and encouraging each other as we ran through performances.
The feedback and support for Slay the Stage from the DFW community has been absolutely incredible. Our staff is working hard behind the scenes to #GrowtheShow and make this opportunity the best it can be for our performers and community. We love seeing all of the posts and shares buzzing around social media and we figured we’d share some of our favorite Slaytags so that you can help us on our mission to Grow the Show!
We invite you to follow and use our Favorite Slaytags!
Slay is always the word of the day around here and our slayage is real both on stage and behind the scenes. Let us introduce you to the multiple flavors of slay!
Slay the Stage is the brainchild of Ashley Robinson. She’s been an active member of the pole, trial and circus community for 12 years. She got her start at Pole’iticians Fitness Studio back in 2010 and has been a fixture in the community ever since. Ashley is the owner and head coach of FlexyFit and Aerial Ashletes, a professional aerialist and competition judge. She judges regularly for USPSF, PSO and Aerialympics. This dynamic and melanated aerialist and coach loves to train everyBODY and helps people achieve their aerial ambitions in pole, flying pole, lyra, trapeze and aerial yoga. She is the current Athlete Chair for US Pole Sports Federation (USPSF), and she specializes in the coaching of competitors and plus-size aerialists. Promoting body inclusion, better teaching practices, self-advocacy are passions of hers. Ashley is a master nerd and body sorceress with numerous pole/aerial certifications; she’s also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Human Movement Specialist with ten years of experience in fitness, flexibility, dance conditioning, pole and aerial. She’s also a business creative that loves helping soloprenuers and small businesses. Her goal is to create opportunity and provide support to our growing community!
Valerie is our Event Manager, aka “the show whisperer!” She is the behind-the-scenes pro that keeps our events running smoothly! She’s been involved in pole for the past two years and is the 2021 SpaceCity Level 1 Championship – First Place Winner! She’s also the Aerial Ashletes Competition Team Assistant, and the secretary for the United States Pole Sport Federation (USPSF).
Eré is a fierce spinning Latinx aerialist based out of the DFW Metroplex. She fell in love with Aerial Arts in 2014 and has always had an affinity for Aerial Hoop. Since then Eré has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Ireland, Mexico and across the United States to hone her skills and learn from as many aerial powerhouses as possible. Obtaining certifications to teach were a natural progression as she was a school teacher too. Now Eré is a full time instructor at Shine Fitness Studio where she specializes in Beginner and Intermediate Aerial Hoop and Dance Trapeze, she loves helping everyone achieve all their aerial goals. Being in the air swirling around the Hoop and playing with gravity to achieve a faster spin is her true happy place.
Dee, aka Pole_For_Your_Soul is our Pole Coordinator. She is a pole vet with nearly 11 years in this beautiful art. Pole Fitness catalyzed her weight loss journey and stole her heart immediately. She began competing, and soon after began teaching. She is a level 0-2 instructor at Altitude Fitness Highland Village. Her happy place is low flow and floorwork. Dee feels very intently that every woman deserves to feel sexy. Feeling sexy and appreciating your sensuality causes a domino effect on other aspects of life. Dee has worked with Ashley for the last 9 years and is very dedicated to growing this showcase for our pole, circus, aerialist, burlesque, twerk, chair, floorwork and dance community.
